First, 10 and 2 has been an industry standard for quite some time. Im surprised by the new recommendation and find it somewhat dangerous. I laughed a little at the new recommendation and climbed back into the car and found the position to be awful for control, awful for comfort and I don't know what shape they think airbags are but I don't see it as preventing entanglement. Their reasoning was that it was optimal for control, comfort and keeps your arms from being tangled in the airbag. I was at the gas station today and was listening to the television service announcement and was surprised to hear that AAA is no recommending 8 and 4 hand placement instead of the good ole 10 and 2 position.
